If you live in or around Hornsea and want a practical, hands-on course, DIY Training teaches DIY electrics, plumbing and plastering at Redhouse Farm, Withernsea (HU19 2BX). Learners from Hornsea are welcome on every course, and our DIY Electrics session runs in the evening, 6pm to 9pm, which can suit anyone who is busy during the day.
Our courses
DIY Electrics evening course (6pm to 9pm)
A practical homeowner-focused session on safe electrical basics, including isolation, testing and replacing common accessories, plus knowing when to call a registered electrician. The next session is on Monday 23 November 2026 at £50.00 per session. See the electrics course.
Plumbing: Bathroom Fitting (3 days)
Our most in-depth course for anyone planning a bathroom. Over three days you plan the layout, run pipework, fit baths, basins, WCs and showers, then finish with sealing, leak testing and commissioning. The next course runs from Monday 14 to Wednesday 16 December 2026 at £115.00 per day. See the plumbing course.
Plastering (3 or 5 days)
Learn surface preparation, mixing, hawk and trowel technique, skimming walls and ceilings, and finishing. The 5-day option adds boarding. The next 3-day course runs from Monday 11 to Wednesday 13 January 2027 at £115.00 per day, and dates for the 5-day course are to be confirmed. See the plastering course.
What every course includes
Every course is hands-on and taught in a small group of up to 6, by an instructor with over 40 years' experience in the trades. All tools and materials are supplied, and tea and coffee are provided. Bring your lunch for the day courses.
