Course Outline

Day 1: Planning & Pipework

Planning the bathroom layout and fixture positions
Tools, materials and safety
Pipe types, cutting, deburring and joining
Isolation valves and best-practice routing

Day 2: First Fix

Setting out and fixing frames/backing for fixtures
Running hot/cold supplies and wastes
Testing for leaks and making adjustments

Day 3: Second Fix & Commissioning

Fitting basin, WC and bath/shower components
Silicone sealing and finishing
Final checks, commissioning and fault finding

Who the plumbing course is for

This 3-day course is for homeowners and DIYers who want to plan and fit their own bathroom with confidence. You work through a bathroom installation in order: planning and pipework on day 1, first fix on day 2, and second fix and commissioning on day 3. You can tell us your experience level when you register, from beginner to advanced DIYer.

Knowing your limits

Good plumbing includes knowing when to call a professional. Gas work, for example, must always be left to a registered engineer, and we help you recognise those boundaries as part of the training.

Dates, price and location

The next course runs from Monday 14 to Wednesday 16 December 2026 at £115.00 per day, £345.00 in total for the three days. It is taught in a small group of up to 6 at Redhouse Farm, Withernsea, HU19 2BX, by an instructor with over 40 years' experience in the trades.
